Billets and Team Liaisons

Billets

Teams from developing countries will be competing in the 2018 World Rowing Coastal Champion, as part of FISA’s goal to grow rowing throughout the world. The growth of rowing helps build a strong and socially sustainable community.  A strong community like Sidney and Victoria is a great place to achieve this goal.

These athletes will require accommodation throughout the event – Monday, Oct.8th to Monday, Oct.15th (Arrival/departure not confirmed as yet)

Other Requirements:

  • Be within easy walking or transit distance from Tulista Park, Sidney.
  • There will be a Team captain that will liaise with this group and billet providers.
    • Billets are providing accommodation, and do not need to be with athletes all day. Athletes will be at the event site most of the day(s).  Breakfast may be provided and possible use of kitchen for their own use.
    • Billets will familiarize the athletes with the area and inform them of the local highlights.

If you believe billeting an athlete would be something that interests you, or you’d like to know more about the process, please do not hesitate to contact us at volunteer@wrcc2018.com.

Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you.

Team Liaisons

An international race has athletes from multiple countries, therefore, each country will require a liaison to troubleshoot for events and help navigate local information. Although, this information is provided directly to each team when they register, a liaison will greatly improve their experience and allow them to focus on racing and avoid confusion throughout the event.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate language skills.
  • Available by phone or in-person
  • Knowledge of the event material and Sidney/Victoria area.

Countries will be specified as teams register:

  • Algeria
  • Canada
  • Czech Republic
  • Denmark
  • England
  • France
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Netherlands
  • Portugal
  • South Africa
  • Spain
  • USA

If you believe becoming a team liaison would be something that interests you, or you’d like to know more about the process, please do not hesitate to contact us at volunteer@wrcc2018.com.

Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you.
